Second prize in Krakow, 2005

AeroDynamic consists of the singer Harma Everts and the two recorder players Maria Martinez Ayerza and Stephanie Brandt. The trio was founded after a successful one time coöperation.

By then, only two pieces had been written for this uncommon combination of instruments, but AeroDynamic has asked several composers since to write new pieces for them, so there are about a dozen now. AeroDynamic started as a contemporary chamber music ensemble, but since this year, it also plays medieval music. Of course, the two styles are often combined in the concerts.

The name AeroDynamic literally means "moving air". This is the way to produce sound for a singer as well as for a recorder player. To stress this link, we chose this name.

AeroDynamic tries to make contemporary music interesting for everybody. To achieve this, they use costumes and they present their pieces in an original way. It is allowed to laugh while attending a performance of AeroDynamic!

In 2005, AeroDynamic participated in several competitions. The trio was one of the four finalists during the Internationaal Kamermuziekconcours Almere and it won the second prize in the category trio at the IXth International Competition of Contemporary Chamber Music in Krakow, Polen.

AeroDynamic already played in several famous halls, a.o. the Grote Zaal of the Muziekgebouw aan het IJ in Amsterdam, De IJsbreker, the Bachzaal and the Concertgebouw. For 2007, a Spanish tournee is planned, as well as participation in the Gaudeamus Competition.
